"We will do everything we can to provide a joy-filled life for your child, providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs to the best of our ability."

Our names are Daniel and Danielle (the Dans or D squared, as our families like to refer to us), and we have been married for 10 years. We met when we were just toddlers, spending summer holidays together up north in Michigan. From childhood crushes, high school sweet hearts to saying, “I do!” right out of college, we continue to fall deeper in love with each passing year. We have built a quiet, joyful life in the Midwest. We hope to give you a little glimpse into our life and the love we are ready to give a child.

dear mom,

It is important to start by saying that we have been praying for you. Your sacrifice and love for the baby you are carrying speaks to your courage and strength. We know that choosing an adoptive family is an incredibly difficult decision, and we are deeply honored that you are considering us. Please know that you will always have our respect, no matter who you choose.

why we're adopting

"We believe that family is built on love - not just genetics."

It is our dream to have a family and raise children in our home filled with love and laughter. We have witnessed the beauty of adoption in my family; I have aunts, uncles, and cousins who are adopted.

When we found out we are not able to have biological children due to infertility, we knew adoption would be the path to growing our family, too. To us, adoption is a gift. It is a chance to live out a dream we doubted would become a reality, and we are honored to have that opportunity.

Welcome to our home!

We’ve called the Midwest our home since birth. From the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan to the numerous inland lakes, time on the water is at the center of our love for this state. Experiencing all four seasons of Midwest weather keeps you on your toes and allows us to enjoy a variety of seasonal activities. We live in a quiet neighborhood with several other families. Our backyard overlooks a ravine allowing deer, turkeys and squirrels to frequently visit and eat our landscaping! Our community offers walking trails, a beautiful inland lake with crystal clear waters, several parks and a children’s museums.

We have two cats, Whiskey and Kramer. Whiskey is named after his LONG whiskers. Given the chance, he loves to get outside and climb trees. He is a little charmer and will jump into your arms for a cuddle. Kramer got his name from the show Seinfeld. Like his namesake, he is always hungry and will happily take your sandwich without thinking twice. He loves to be with Danielle and follows her around like a little shadow. Kramer likes to be played with but is happy to entertain himself by dragging toys all across the house.

It Takes a Village...

We know that community will be crucial for your baby and we have been blessed with close friends and family who are familiar with adoption. Your baby will grow up with lots of nieces and nephews to play with!

Our Adventures

Danielle loves to plan trips, taking to the internet and social media to scout out up and coming destinations.

We appreciate the spontaneity that travel offers us. Exploring new places on foot or on a motorcycle is our favorite way to see what the city has to offer. Traveling creates in us a deeper sense of wonder about the world while also helping us to appreciate home even more!

Our sights are set on exploring more of the West Coast of the US in the next few years. We look forward to sharing our love of travel with our future child!

About
Danielle

“Those around her are left un-wanting!”

Have you ever met a person that gives more than they take? That is exactly who Danielle is. She has the ability to empathize with anyone she meets. She seems to attract lifelong friends at every turn. She genuinely enjoys caring for loved ones and is often encouraging others with a phone call after a hard day, a meal when they are sick or just something that reminded her of them.

Danielle is a planner and has a knack for anticipating needs. She is passionate about health and enjoys sharing her knowledge of nutrition and health with those around her. In the morning you’ll find her up early cooking with a smile while making lists for the days’ activities.

About
Daniel

“He’s my rock, sure and steady!”

Daniel stands out in a room for many reasons – his height, easy smile, and warm demeanor quickly draw attention his way. He is extremely hard-working, both in his profession and relationships. Daniel is an excellent friend, husband, brother and son. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys hunting and fishing when he can find the time. Spending time in the outdoors, whether that is doing yard work, going for a hike, boat ride, motorcycle trip, or camping, helps him to slow down and appreciate life.

Daniel is also known to spark deep conversations with friends and colleagues. His knowledge of history and philosophy is expansive and finds true enjoyment discussing these topics. He is a competitive person and often grows quiet and strategic if he is losing a game (which rarely happens).

Daniel: I am a Manufacturing Engineer in Machine Tool Sales. I’m the 3rd generation to work for my family’s business and am part-owner of the company. I enjoy the ever changing pace and variety that sales brings. I appreciate the challenge of finding the best solution for each of my customers. As I step more into leadership roles within the company, I enjoy being able to influence the culture and health of the business.

Danielle: I am a Functional Medicine Dietitian. Functional medicine changed my health and life; being able to pass that on to others is a gift! It is very rewarding to arm my patients with the knowledge and tools to help them achieve a healthier body, mind and spirit. I work part-time from home and our plan is to have my mother or MIL come to our home to watch the baby while I see patients virtually.

I do plan on becoming a stay-at-mom while the baby is still quite young. Both Daniel and I had the privilege of being raised with stay-at-home moms and we hope to replicate the great benefits that afforded us in our childhood to our baby. I believe that motherhood is an amazing calling and I am so excited to give my time and energy to the challenge of motherhood!

We hope to raise our child to feel secure in our family. We will ensure they know their story and help them not only understand, but come to appreciate that they are cherished by many – both us and you. We want to instill values of family, education, faith, and self-assuredness. Our goal is to foster curiosity, joy and purpose for our child. We are grateful that we are supported by family and friends who have modeled these goals so well for us.

We value education greatly. Our hope is that we will be able to homeschool. I (Danielle) was homeschooled from grade 1 through grade 12. Homeschooling allowed me to work ahead on the subjects that came naturally or that I excelled in and to take more time on the subjects that were more challenging for me. We hope to give our child an educational experience that is tailored to how they learn and ensures that they will be successful when they transition into higher education and the workforce.

While we both value education, we know that college is not the only way to be well educated. We will support the path our child decides to take after graduating high school, whether that is working right away, pursuing a trade or enrolling in college. We do hope to be able to financially assist our child during those years of transition, that could be helping to pay for college, a trade school or supplementing their income as they enter the workforce.

from our hearts

If you choose us, we promise to always support and guide them as they grow, helping them to discover the unique and beautiful person they are destined to be. Your child will always know the great sacrifice you made for them and the bravery that it took from you.

We are committed to honoring whatever level of openness and communication feels right for you. We hope to learn and grow together, creating a unique and wonderful family, with you, your baby and us.

No matter what you decide, we hope you find peace and strength as you move forward.

XO, Daniel & Danielle
